'''Fertilizer''' is a crafted [[:Category:liquid products|liquid product]] used to restore {{infoicon|Fertility|new=yes}} in the [[Farm]], [[Irrigated Farm]], [[Greenhouse]], and [[Greenhouse II]]. Along with the growing of {{infoicon|Green Manure|new=yes}}, it is the only method of restoring Fertility levels.

In the mid-game, Fertilizer is generally produced using the the {{infoicon|Ammonia}} byproduct from {{infoicon|Sour Water}} [[Sour Water Stripper|stripping]], while in later stages of the game it is possible to create it from entirely elemental sources using the output of a [[Hydrogen Reformer]] and an [[Air Separator]]. Alternatively, Fertilizer can be sustainably produced through green methods using {{infoicon|Digestate}}.

6 Fertilizer will restore 1% of a farms fertility. Given that current crops require 6 months to grow you need to provide enough fertilizer each month to match each crops fertility penalty. For instance 10 fertilizer per month is needed for Potatoes, 15 fertilizer per month is needed for Corn, and 12.5 fertilizer per month is needed when you rotate the two crops.

Fertilizer will not be consumed while growing Green Manure to ensure it's effects are not wasted.
