Research Lab IV is currently the final research building upgrade. Sort of. There's some kind of 'space research' thing with the space station that costs Electronics IV, but fortunately to do normal endgame research you only need Electronics III to make Lab Equipment IV. You'll need a Gold and Microchips processing area for that.
