Bricks were a fundamental early-game requirement and will be consumed in large quantities. They were removed in EA 0.7.1 in favor of using only Concrete Slab.
Bricks were a crafted material that is used in the production of Construction Parts. They are made from a combination of Dirt, Coal, and Water.
After researching Concrete Production, Bricks can be replaced by Concrete Slab, which offers higher production rates with the Concrete Mixer, particularly higher tier machines.
Bricks consume large quantities of dirt and may require constant attention and careful planning to keep machines full of ingredients once production begins to ramp up.
Dirt is an early game byproduct of mining and excess dirt production may decrease as you begin to mine into more concentrated resources. This is a secondary reason to change to Concrete Slab production.
